How can i change the background manually without going through the display properties gui. Is there a registry setting, or a file in the windows folder that can be editted, etc.

thanks,

-drew

I normally navigate the the picture, open it up using the default picture viewer, then right click on the pic and select "set as desktop background"

well heres the situation. I would like to change a users wallpaper back to standard blue instead of the picture they set because we dont allow that. Is there a registry setting or a file somewhere that i can edit to accomplish this. I would like to do it remotely and without the user even knowing.

Windows will copy the wallpaper file to this location, whicevcer is chosen will be copied here for usage:
C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Wallpaper1.bmp

you can delete or rename or change that file.

You can also disable his ability to change the wallpaper through group policy.

Or by changing this registry key to whatever location you want, where a sanctioned wallpaper might be:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Wallpaper

Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.
