Hi

Hope you can help. I have been using the cross tab that ships with Crystal, however the client requires an CSV output and I gather cross tabs do not export.

What I need to do is for each instance of a material type is count the number of material ids. So my Crystal generated cross tab had a row of material type with a summarised total of DistinctCount on Material ID. How do I recreate this using formulas? What I am struggling with is generating the row detail against the column???

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance.

What you have described isn't really a crosstab in the sense of there not being a column field (at least that you shared with us). All you need to do is group on type, place the ID field in the detail section, right click on it to insert a distinct count, drag the group name into the group footer, and suppress the detail and group header section.

If you have a column field, then you would create running totals like the following example, where shipper is the column: Select {table.shipper}, distinctcount, evaluate using a formula:

{table.shipper} = "FedEx"//change this for other running totals

Reset on change of group {table.type}. Place the running total in the group footer.
