manipulating caller id in a definity

i have a definity G3siV9 that has a ISDN PRI.....they are sending name and number and when call comes into the switch and transferred to a 6400 model phone. when the call comes in and sometime shows the phone number calling and the trunk group and sometimes shows the name and the trunk group.......looking for a way to always show the phone number on the display....anybody else run into this....PRI provider says that they cant change the Caller id info.....

If I understand your question...

If the calling party is not sending caller-id you'll see the trunk group name. That's the preference of the calling party not your switch... I don't think you can do anything to change that.

the calling party is sending caller-id but when displayed on the phone, you get the name and not the phone number. you also get on the 2nd line the trunk group that the call is incoming on.....the telco is sending both name and number per what they tell me....i havent been on site and looked at the incoming pack to verify it though

Haven't heard of this problem, but are you running NI protocol on your PRI? If so, try setting this option to "y" on the second page of the trunk group screen.

US NI Delayed Calling Name Update: y

We receive name/num from LEC on PRI with no problems. If name isn't available, it just shows num. If beither is avail, it displays the trunk group name. I don't believe there is any way to change this.

Also on page 2 you can set the "Send Connected Number" to yes.

***Note: I've never used the US NI option...mine are all set to n and I always get ANI display on my phone sets.
