Hello.

I'm running Mandrake 9.2 on a Dell PowerEdge Server with 4GB RAM. Mandrake only reports 886MB's of RAM. This is a serious problem for us since we host virtual machines off the host OS (that being mandrake). Is this a finite limit of the kernel or do I need to pass special parameters to the kernel upon install or boot?

Thank for your help in advance!

You may need to recompile the kernel and choose 4GB during the configuration or recompile it while enabling bigmem.

You can also append the undetected memory in lilo.conf or in grub.conf but I don't think this is valid for any amount of memory over 1GB.
