Mandrake 10.0 does not initialize network

During initialization, Mandrake 10.0 gives errors

Bringing up interface eth0 [failed]
Checking internet connections to start at boot
SIOLDELRT no such process TIMEDOUT [failed]

But after the reboot I can go into the control center and initialize the network and it works fine. It also works fine under Windows 98.

Any suggestions on how to debug this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Had the same problem. Unplug your more exotic USB devices before booting. Worked 100% for me.

It didn't help me. I unplugged all my USB devices before booting but I still get the same errors. BTW, the network initialized with no problems in Mandrake 9.1
