I use the Replication Manager for indirect replication. Now I want to set up another replica set, a copy of the replica set I have already established just for testing things. Therefore, I tried to take a copy of a replica and convert it into a Design Master for another replica set. But it didn't work since apparently there's a converter integrated in the Replication Manager, i.e. it only accepts Non-Replicas as basis for a Design Master. Is there a trick to bypass this requirement? I don't want ot use the old db that doesn't have all the design changes I made to adapt it for replication.

Thanks for your advice!!!

When you have a replica set, it is always advisable to make any change in the design master then synchronize to pass change round. However, you may make any member of the set the design master by synchronizing and specifying the member. Note that you should not have more than one design master for effective synchronization.

Peace,

You can change a replica to a Design Master from the replica: Tools -> Replication -> Recover Design Master
but
For your replica set's sake, copy all objects to new DB and replicate it OR unreplicate the copy and re-replicate it.
This way you create Design Master for NEW replica set
and can't damage your original one (the new one can't sinc
with the orig).
