Manager/VM Pro not opening

Tried everything, thought I'd give it a shot here:

If I open manager, nothing happens. I see it in processes, but the window never comes up. VM Pro says "unresponsive". Tried everything: spyware and virus scan (nothing), uninstalling anti-virus, scrapping everything called Avaya. System restore doesn't work, after the reboot I get an error message saying restore couldn't complete.

Windows 7, 64 bits. Never had that before; worked fine Monday at 4 pm, and then yesterday morning, nope.

Try reinstalling .net

Remove any "Bloody tuesday" updates from Microsoft and then re-install .NET.
 
Wish I'd saw this earlier; ended up updating Windows with W7 DVD.

After the process, it went on to repair "missing files" from .NET. Unfortunately I had begun the process when I read the answers on this board. Looks like you had it right.

Oh, well. All is good now; thanks guys.
