I use VLAN 100 as my management VLAN on my 2924XL. After I upgraded to IOS version 12.0(5)WC13, even though VLAN 1 is admistratively shutdown and VLAN 100 is administratively up, and after this configuration is saved to NVRAM, after a reboot, both VLANs come back as shutdown. I opened a case with TAC, but I thought I'd try you guys as well.

Does your layer 2 vlan definition for vlan 100 show active when you do a show vlan ? Make sure your layer 2 vlan definition loooks correct in the vlan database.

Maybe you can post the config and specify if you are using multiple vlans on the switch or are using trunking of any type. It might be easier to see if we have the config and maybe a show vlan command.

the 2924XL was running 12.0(5)WC9 prior to the 12.0(5)WC13 upgrade. this was done to address a PSIRT vulnerability. Yes, we are trunking to this switch. Yes, the VLANs are active. Yes, the VTP database is correct and matches the other switches in the domain. I'll see about posting a config here shortly. Thanks for the note back.

Turns out this problem was resolved by removing the following command from my configuration:

LOGGING SOURCE-INTERFACE VLAN100
