Is it possible to have instances directed to user's folders? (CE 10 Pro) We have several complex reports used by many users with row level security so each user see's only appropriate rows. We would like to allow them to run their own reports (their choice of parameters) with the output delivered to their user folder. Using managed reporting I can only get instances to appear where the original report that is run is kept. Without being able to structure the storage of instances by user this will quickly be unusable. We do not want to use unmanaged storage because we want reports accessed through ePortfolio.
Does anyone have any experience with this or suggestions?

Hi,
Run them how..On Demand or scheduled?

If scheduled, why not have the report output sent to them by E-Mail or saved to a file system location.

Bear in mind that the CE folders not 'real' locations - all the data of a run instance is in the Output file location.

Thanks for the quick response.
We have stayed away from e-mail because the reports may be drilled down or exported to Excel. My assumption has been the end-user would require some client-side software we don't have to view or optionally drill-down or export a report e-mailed to them by CE. Am I wrong about this? Or does a piece of software come with CE that I am simply unfamiliar with?

If they want drill down, then they'll need to use a Crystal Viewer to do that, if they want Excel, just email it in Excel format.

I think that even CE 10 came with an offline viewer that they could install locally on a Windows box for viewing exported files.

I may also support exports, I can't recall.

If you want the reports to appear in their local folders, why not link the report to their local folder and schedule it from there? The schedule and instances should now show up in their folders.

Thanks- you are correct. It can be found on the CE 10 User Launchpad (not the Admin Launchpad, where I "live"). I have looked at it quickly and per the documentation it supports both drill-down and exporting, although the documentation does not say, I assume to Excel.
I will experiment with mailing reports and using the Offline Viewer.
