I put together a 100-page magazine every month. I want to create 100 single pages (or 50 spreads) independently, and then stitch them all together at the very end, with page numbering, etc.

How can I do this in Indesign?

Thanks.

if i understand you correct you want 100 (or 50) single files "stiched" together as one magazine..

The thing you are looking for is the document type "Book".

In the book document you can add pages, control page numbering etc.

you can even syncronize paragraph and character styles. The only thing missing is syncronizing of masters.

best regards

Without getting into a discussion as to why Adobe did not include an advanced booklet plug-in with InDesign, I can say there is only one way to go:

There is a downloadable trial.
The price of the full version is well worth it.

I have not used it with as many as 100 pages, but I am sure it can handle this with ease.
Jimoblak can maybe confirm if InBooklet will handle your 100 pages or not.

I will try "book" today, thanks. As for the downloadable plug-in, it appears it deals more with spreads and impositions. We let our printer deal with those things - I just want to be able to, for instance, have all my editorial pages as single or double pages in a folder, and all my advertising pages in another, and work on them individually.

I also want to be able to FTP one page at a time to contributors for proofing.

Then, when assembly time comes, I want to be able to grab each page and put it into a larger book.
Thanks. KM
