When I print with my HP psc 1315xi, it throws up the image of what I will print.
It comes up in a medium window and I would like it Maximized.

How do you reset the defaults in the software?

I can maximize it, but it always defaults to medium.

I don't know how to find out which version it is...

HP Online Chat is a joke - can't get anywhere trying to use it!

Word 2003? This is really a Word issue - the default print preview size is not directly related to any specific printer.

A Word macro will do it for you. Click here for a way to do it.

I am using Word 2002 - I bought it and it works fine.

Thank you for your helping hand.

I respectfully disagree (but I will try it) about the Macro.

I set up a Macro to "Print This Page" (only) and so I know
how to record one.

BUT - this HP Print Preview is POST WORD commands...it comes
up BEFORE the printer is engaged. It does it no matter what
software uses the printer.
I imagine that after clicking the "print" command, HP's program runs independent of WORD and when done, relinquishes
command back to word.

I will add clicking on the maximize button (Upper Right Corner
next to the Kill "X" in the window) to see if WORD can do it.

But, before I do it, I predict it will fail.

I need to get into HP's software (HOW ?) to set the default
window size - methinks.

I will report back tomorrow and either humbly apologize or
tell you if your idea worked....

Well I tried it...

When I got to the part where I clicked on "Maximise" in the
HP Print Preview screen, I went back to the recording Macro
and stopped it.

Does nothing more than mine does..

I looked at the Macro (edit Macro) and it is exactly the same
as mine. i.e. once into the HP Print Preview, WORD did not
record the click - it was outside of WORD's influence.

Thanks for the attempted help, however...

I need to contact HP and THAT is next to impossible!

I doubt if they want contact with customers....most Corp's
seem to set up their Web Sites in such a way as to not allow
customers to contact them w/o doing unnatural acts...

JUST TRY to get on HP's "online chat" !

And I have Two of these hp psc 1315xi's !

Clearly we're talking about something different.

I was referring to Word's Alt+F,V print preview.

Yes....

"When I print with my HP psc 1315xi, it throws up the image of what I will print."

HP provides a CD with a Printer Management Software containing,
among other things, a stand alone "Print Preview" window which
is outside of ANY software you are working in.

Now - how can I make THAT HP Software work maximized (default) ?

Does anyone know how to get to it - an ini or int file somewhere?

AND - how the Hell does one contact HP other than calling them?

HP's web site seems designed to keep you OUT...the "Chat Room" is total rubbish! You can't get to it!
