Hi

Is there a way to make all phones ring in a particular hunt group ? I vaguely recall there is a way of doing this, but seem to remember that it is limited to a set number of extensions within a group.

Can anyone tell me how to do this? And also if it is possible to make more than say 10 phones ring.

Help appreciated

Hi
If you mean hunt group there are two modes of member ringing - cyclical and starting from first.
If you want to ring all stations in some group simultaneously make terminated-extension-group or
calling answer group.
What do you want to get?

Hi Dimas

Thanks for your help

We want all phones to ring simultaneously. I've just looked at the call-answer-group facility and this appears to be limited to only 8 extensions. Does the terminated-extension-group allow for more ?

Unfortunately in terminated-ext-group you can assign only up to 4 stations ringing simultaneously.

Have you thought about setting up the ring-to station as an x-port and using bridged appearances on the 10 extensions?

You can also set up an Coverage-Answer-Group. It allows 8 stations to be called at one time. Do the command " add coverage answer {number of answer group}" .

Add the stations to be called in the answer group. Add a new coverage path with point one of coverage C1, or whatever coverage answer group you created above. On the hunt group form put the coverage path you just created in the coverage path field. Remove all of the members from the hunt group.

Now all calls to the hunt group will cover to the answer group and will ring on all of the phnes at the same time. Hope this helps.

And if you chose to have more members, use bridged appearance, or create an additional coverage path to pick up after the first coverage answer groups Coverage path rings 4 times. This way you could create a priority calling group (Coverage Answer Group 1) and then an escalation group (Coverage Answer Group 2).The only bad part about all of this is that the phone could ultimately ring 8-10 times before either being answered or voicemail. And it won't place the phones in a make busy state, so when they call back it'll do all over again... Hope this helps.

One advantage of using a hunt group is that it does not take up one of your RTU ports on your switch. I f you have a great deal of X ports, I recommend using hunts groups instead.

Many thanks for all the helpful repies. Given that we have between 10-16 people in our group it seems that we shall have seperate these into two answer groups and go for the solution which "98Converter" suggested.

BTW, It does seem bizzare that there isn't a simple solution to this, our old Index system did this no problem (albeit very little else).

once again ,many thanks.
