Can someone get me off the ground. I want an activeX control consisting of just a text box that can be accessed/filled by the application it gets put on. Many thanks
Thats it. No more wasting my time on this one. As far as I am concerned this thread is dead. I will get it removed. Creating a project, Standard, Activex Exe, ActiveX Dll, ActiveX User control, or the documents, wizards etc. Following VBsuns thread, the only Form1 created by default is when I am creating a standard project. I got it to work okay, but that was as far as I got, ie no .ocx. So I went back to the User control, did that bit. Created the .ocx. Registered it. Could not find it anywhere with Access, just kept finding project1.MyText. Why it keeps the prefix Project1 when all I had registered was MyText I don't know. All I know is I could only find it with the extra tools function. When I load it on the Access form, gives me the message saying OLE Server is not registered '''''
So I have had enough of all the gobble-de-gook just to carry out a simple function.
Fine. But trust us, this stuff works well, works everyday, and does (generally) exactly what it says on the box, and is actually pretty straightforward.
I suggest you take a break from this (as you seem to be ;-)). Then, before coming back to it, try reading the "Creating an ActiveX Control" section of the VB documentation.
