Hi
Can I use for home page a html document placed in my hard disk?
May be a dumb question but I would like to do this: a page with all may favorites

Thanks

I am not sure what you're asking. Can you use an html file that is on your HD for a home page basis? Sure. Can you use your bookmarks.html file from your hard drive as a home page? Sure. Can you point other people to your "website", which is a file on your local hard drive? Only if you're having a server set-up that has a valid path to that file.

I think we'll need more information on what exactly you want to be able to help you fully.

Ok, now I can have my html file as home page.(file:///F:/abertura.htm) must be like this and I didn´t know.
But when I try to go favorites it says to login to have access in Google. and then I get the error:Error Issuing Command to Google Toolbar
I'm using Windows Vista.
Do I have to do something else?

Thanks a lot

What has Google Toolbar to do with anything? If you're asking if you can choose a local page (an html document that resides on your computer) as a home page in the browser, the answer is yes. The syntax you showed us would be correct if this file is called abertura.html and resides on the root of the F drive.

Any potential problems that you might be having, have to be caused by other application you have installed, such as Google Toolbar for example.

Thanks Vragabond that's it - the google toolbar was the problem. My home page now it works fine.

I use a local file as my home page - however, because it has a javascript clock that follows the mouse, and IE gives me an annoying warning about running a script from your browser is not a good thing. I wrote the script, I want to disable that warning.

I think we need to know what browser you are using to better help you know how to setup your file at your homepage.

I'm using IE7 and any help will be appretiate

treta,

What is your problem now? You said that you had your home page working fine.

Einstein47,

There should be no issue with running scripts locally. Perhaps you could start a new thread detailing the issue you are having if you need to resolve it.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Dan,
Einstein47 ask me what browser I use so I assumed he has some thing to tell me to make my home page better. But yes, now my home page is now working
Sorry if I understood wrong
