Hi everyone, we're running a NS1000 with NT560 phones, and something we're working on here depends on having SIP softphones which we've already set up. To make both phones ring simultaneously I've tried both XDP I've tried forward no answer with 0 delay, and to keep ringing on the original device which I think works better in this case. However, when we go off hook on one device, I would like the other extension to appear busy as well... is there a way to accomplish this? That way if I answer a call on my SIP softphone, reception can see that it appears I'm busy on my desk phone, and vice versa.

Here is the solution:

BUT!!!! You will not in "busy" state if you just go off hook at your SIP-device (because of SIP design). To became in "busy" using SIP-phone you have to start calling.

I had tried that before and thought it did not work - but I was looking at the UC Pro software (which is going away in a few months anyway) to check the status of my extension which showed available. However, looking at the DSS console at reception, my extension is showing as busy when on a SIP call so this does work for me.

Now for the pitfall of using this method, the SIP devices will ring when we have our PBX in night mode - which uses an ICD group to ring all of the desk phones a few times before transferring to a general voicemail. Because effectively these will be SIP softphones on mobile devices I don't want them ringing on general incoming calls when people are out of the office. Which is where the forward if unanswered came in. Calls direct to the extension rang both phones but ICD group calls rang only the deskphone. This might just be a matter of changing procedure on our part.

Do you really need to see your primary device number as a member of ICD group in night mode?
Just delete them from ICDG.
