Make text box appear if Checkbox is clicked

I have a form where I need a message to appear (in textbox or other means) when a checkbox is clicked. The checkbox is for a deny request and the text that appears will tell them what to do if the request is denied. But I don't want this text showing unless they click the checkbox.
