Hello all, I am trying to create a make table query that will take my linked table and format it into a specific format so I can export to excel. The linked table is from an accounting program called Timberline. It does not store calculated values in its tables so I must do this in Access. I need to have a new table made that has a calculation done by either multiplying or dividing two other fields together. I am thinking that it must be done in either SQL or VB to get this new field into the table. I am now trying to use a new blank table with the missing field that is related to the linked table to create the query, but the other hang up I am having is that I cannot change the name of the fields. This is critical since the other program that accepts Excel files must have the proper header labels.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Rob M.

Did you know that you can export from a query? Queries allow you to format, create calculated columns, and provide aliases for column names.
