Is there a limit to the number of records that will be copied to the new table when you run a Make Table Query?

I am using ODBC drivers to link a data file from which I run the Make Table Query. The Data file has between 9,000 and 10,000 records each record having 202 fields (not every field is filled in). The criteria involved would have the Make Table Query making a table with approximately 520 records. The problem that I'm running into is that I'm getting an error stating "Record is too large". I have it running off a date range but in order to get all the necessary data I would have to run the Make Table Query and then run Append Table Queries.

Also, if I run the Append Table Queries will I have to worry about duplicate data?

Thanks for your help

"Record too large" indicates that one of the records you are creating is breaking the 2K (for Access 97) or 4K (for Access 2000) limit. A record in Access can't span across multiple database pages.

202 fields probably indicate that the table needs to be redesigned. Either that or you can turn some of the text fields into Memo types.
