Make picture bright

I converted a Color picture to Greyscale (Using Filter->Color). But now the picture is too dark.

Is there a way in illustrator to increase its brightness?

What abt any other software?

Not in illustrator. You should open the file in photoshop and go to image>adjust>brightness/contrast. Then save it and open it back up in illustrator.
