Make phone ring while on another call

I need help programming a phone to ring while you are already on another call. We already have one phone that does this but we need to setup another one. Thanks.

It could be you need to add an intercom button, or turn off, Call Forward on Busy.

It's not that the caller gets a busy signal because the caller will hear 4 rings and then get transfered to voice mail. What we want to happen is if I am on the phone talking to someone and another call comes in I want to be able to hear it ring, then I can decide if I want to take the call or let it go to my voice mail. Thanks again.

Fully understand. Call Forward on Busy doesn't give a busy signal, it forwards the incoming call to another ext., normally vmail, if your on a call. Since you've said the incoming caller hears 4 rings and then Vmail, you've just indicated Call Forward on busy is not activated. Good, 1 option down.

My first answer was add an intercom button.

I am a little new to all of this. What would adding an intercom button do? How would I use it?

Does the original call ring when it comes to the telephone and what button (location) flashes when the call arrives?

Also you want to check the DND on busy under Capabilities. If that is set to yes than the phone will not ring when the person is on the phone. Also, Dewey is right, if you r DID's are set to Ring only and you only have one appearance of the target line or 1 intercom key on the phone, the phone can only take 1 call at a time.
