Make My Application Run Faster

I need suggestions to make my application faster. It has front and back end, .mdw file, and a couple Word templates. I have some subforms and code. I will have about 20 users from Seattle and Long Beach sharing the backend data.

HELP!!

Use a faster server with lots of memory? :)

If you use a real database as the back-end (Instead of Access), does Access(On the desktop) still download the entire database to perform operations?

How can I tell if the whole database is downloaded, by the code I write?..queries?

I just linked to the backend.
