make a field in a table into a button

I am a new user and am having troupble turning a field into a button so I can click on the field in a Table so it gose to its record in Form view. basic stuff.

I go to my Table, change to Layout, select the field and select button from format. I select Go to Layout, I seclect the form I want, click OK and back to browse.

The field does not become clickable. What am I doing wrong?

Have a look at Combo & List boxes! . . . this is much more of what you want! . . . that is a listbox/combobox on a form, setup to goto the selected record! . . .

On my 2nd read this makes no sense . . . be more specific as this doesn't sound like access.
