This may not be possible, I've been trying. Access 2010 in 2007 mode. OS XP SP3. I have a form with a tab control with 5 tabs, all the tabs are continuous forms with text and combo boxes in the detail section. What I am trying to do is make 1 of 3 fields visible on one subform based on the value in a combo box. All records populate either based on the value in the first record or the current record and affect all the rows displayed.
Does anyone know if/how this can be done or recommend something? Listbox maybe? What I would like to do is stack all 3 fields and only have the correct field visible based on the combo box selection in each row. Cuurently the selected record formats all the rows. Thanks for any help in advance.

In continous view you really only have 1 set of controls all the controls for each record are just a paint of the controls. So basically if you change the field properties it will change in each record instantiation. So you may consider a redesign. The only way to have different formatting for each reacord is to use conditional formatting. This is limited to text boxes and I think comboboxes. There is some tricks you can do with conditional formatting such as make the controls background and foreground the same as the form background thus making it appear invisible. You can also disable a control with conditional formatting. So if you put the controls side by side you can make them appear hidden. However, this trick will not work if you stack them.

Thank MajP. Your explanation is succinct as usual. I am trying to bring the field into the combo box.
