Major Group Discount don't work 1

I'm trying to get the sum of the total discount of a micros system (v4.9) divided in food and beverage and set on the tracking groups the TRACKING TOTAL TYPE = Major Group Discount with the TRACKING TOTAL NUMBER 1 for Food and 2 for beverage (all the food and beverage are using those numbers for the major group reporting) but don't get any movement, the totals stay at zero even with discount applied.

I'm I missing something ?

On the system there are about 20 discounts that I need to track separately and would be very complicated to split those in food discount and beverage discount

Is there a better way to get that information ?

Are you using either item or prorated discounts? If not and they're all just subtotal discounts they're not going to prorate back to you major groups.

Thankyou pmegan that's exactly the problem, I made a test with a different discount and it works as expected but not with the subtotal discount. Thanks again, bye

to be more clear should anybody have the same issue, the discount didn't have the flag to PRORATED SUBTOTAL DISCOUNT
