Hello,

I have one email server on my network, windows 2000 SP4, running exchange 2000. I've noticed lately that some services on the box do not start up in a timely manner upon rebooting the box and i am worried about possible corruption in the services or the operating system. Below are some of the errors i recieve after a reboot. If anybody has seen anything like this or has any ideas as to what may be the cause, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you seen the threads in the Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 forums regarding APC UPS sofware? Do they apply to you?

Have not seen those threads, but there is no APC UPS software on this server so i'm inclined to say no. Currently installed on this box is MS Exchange 2000, Veritas Backup Exec 10, and Symantec Mail Security for Exchange.

Hi
Your problem here is Backup Exec 10.0. I received same set of errors after installing Backup Exec 10.00 Build 5484.6 on a server running Small Business Server 2000, exchange 2000 & sql 2000. After uninstalling Backup Exec errors disappeared.
Sorry I don’t know how to fix your problem but knowing the cause may help.
If any one out there knows how to fix it, I could use some help too.

1. DO you Internet Connection Sharing enabled?
2. Have you applied the Windows 2000 Post SP4 COM+ hotfix?

Internet Connection Sharing is enabled, and the box is regularly patched from windows update so i would assume that the hotfix you are talking about has been installed.

netman is the network connection manager. I've seen problems with ICS due to ICS attempting to start before the dependent network connections are up. To see if this is your problem, try teporarially diabling ICS and rebooting. If the errors do not appear, you need to check the configuration of ICS. In what order are the network adapters bound?
