hi guy's. I'm trying to install auto attendant on Majix. It's a Merlin Messaging, now here's the problem. When a call comes in, it answers immediately and then says your call is being transferred and then goes to extension 10. Also when calling station to station after 3 rings, it does not go to voice mail and the calling station hears a beep after the ring (like a call waiting). Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot. Dann

Did you assign the voice mail ports to a calling group, and set that group as Integrated VMI? Are you in Key Mode? If so, set the extensions to NO ring. Be sure to set the VM ports to Rotary Enabled. Make the VM Calling Group the Coverage Receiver for group 30, and assign the extensions with mailboxes to that coverage group.

fould the problem . it was rotary enable . now customer whats delay on auto att this is very confusing , can you tell me how to program ?
dann
by the way , does the vm ports use rotary to transfer to ext /

The concept behind delayed auto attendant answering on a Magix is to make the lines ring ELSEWHERE from the VM calling group, then make them OVERFLOW to the group and be answered by the auto attendant.

In your case, where above you assigned the lines to Calling Group 770, you would DELETE them from there, and assign to another, unused group, such as 791. Then you use Time-Based overflow to send them to 770, and create a mailbox in the Merlin Messaging that steers the calls to the AA.

Yes, the Merlin Messaging ports communicate with the Magix via Rotary Dialing, thus freeing up Touch Tone Receivers for the incoming caller. That's why Merlin Messaging can't be used with a Legend earlier than Release 7 (no Rotary Enable option).
