no problem, I have done that in the past, when I worked for a Dealer with an AlarmTraq system. It does work, make sure your 'almenable' looks like this "Dial Out Alarm Origination: first"
dadmin@CLIENT-S8300C> almenable -?
Usage: almenable [-d [n|f|b]] [-s [y|n]] ] | [-?]
no argument: display
-d: set dial out alarm origination to
n - neither (default)
f - first number only
b - both numbers
-s: enable

(default) or disable

snmp alarm origination
-?: usage (this)

you want to type this: "almenable -d f"
dadmin@CLIENT-S8300C> almcall -?

[-s second-number] [-b [y|n]]
[-t [abbreviation-timer]]
[-i [interval]] | [-?]

values allowed: up to 30 digits. ',' for pause
-a: set alarm abbreviation on first number to y(es)(default) or n
(o)

and "almcall -f 1XXXYYYXXX" to set your phone # to dial out, you might have to add in the "9" if your modem is on a DID...
