Customer has 406 R2.1(78), voice mail lite, with PRI,external CSU/DSU, three 4400 series phones, 400+ ICR's, 200+ HG's. Older software allowed naming HG's with digits, which is significant, as they are a 24hr answering service(including Dr's offices, etc.) and it gets quite busy at times so they are parking calls often. On older software, call information remains displayed through out duration of call.

EXAMPLE:
I call in on xxx.946.1000. This points to HG labeled "2893 ABC Company", where the 2893 is significant for their call handling, tracking, etc. A phone in HG 1000 lifts the receiver and "2893 ABC Company" remains on the display through out the call.

When I put in the R5, this information disappears upon connection. I brought the system back with me to try to come up with a solution but I'm sucking air. I loaded compatible VM Pro to see if I could make it work via VM Pro's "Specific" tab but I can't seem to make the information remain on the display.

Does anyone know of any tricks to accomplish this? Thanks in advance, and all input is appreciated except for the posts that tell me to upgrade them to 8.1. This is the situation at hand and I have to come up with something with the 5.0, if possible.

You cannot start user or group name with numbers.
That is what it is.
You can however put the numbers after the letters.
But with 5.0 you can use the tag option in the incoming call route.
So change the group names and remove the numbers and put in the numbers in the tag fields.

I have already been through that. Call Tag works fine but as soon as the call is answered, the information disappears. I can get around the naming issue, but I need the information to remain through out the call.

Why? they have answered the call already.
Perhaps you need some integration where this info is shown on the PC they work on?

They don't even have PC's in this room other than the one for the IP Office with VM Lite. Like I said in my original post, its imperative for them to have the information retained on the display. I'm trying to see if this is possible.

Then you have to swap the name and numbers.
So first name and then number in the name field.
