Hi,
Could some one please guide me through creating a flat file source that uses the ftp process to get a Mainframe flat file. I have created a flat file source and configured the ftp but the read that is being read is all corrupted(or not formatted).

Hi,

The problem is that PowerMart does a binary ftp transfer. The mainframe certainly uses EBCDIC encoding. Therefore the file must be converted into ASCII while transferring. Most ftp tools can do that if you use ASCII mode transfer. Unfortunately PM does not enable you to change the transfer mode. As a solution you could transfer the file in the pre session command with an self made script using ASCII mode transfer.
