When I launch my program, in the titel bar of the mainview the name of the program is displayed but also the name of the file that is opened.
His stringname is drawn on the titelbar between '['and ']'
the problem is that the system also includes a number behind this filename...
like 1 or 2.. (like document1 or document2)

How do I remove this 1 or 2 or ....
I cannot get rid of it..
As it is put there seaminly automatic...
Does anybody have an idee on how I can get rid of this autonumber?

Thanks Martini.

If its is a doc/view framework, the the documentxx is generated by the CxxxDoc base class.
Just change the document name in the CxxxDoc constructor.

Using SetWindowText(...); won't work as you only set the title of the window and not the automaticly generated docname that is append to the title.

Thanks for pointing out That the CxxxDoc base class is the one that appends this docname.
I'll try it right away.

Thanks
Martini

You can set window caption after doc will set it's window text. At runtime (for example to show changes of coordinates of mouse pointer in the window caption) you can do it only with SetWindowText. John Fill

Thanks, that works also.
However it is more work as I have to call SetWindowText,
after every update of my view.
But thanks anyway, I can use it for my dialog windows!

Martini.
