Hi,

I still cannot receive any external mails..

Now there is no error message...

everthing seems all right??

What could be the problem..

Hi,

Think I did something to the sercurity!!

Few questions:

1) Have you tried telnet to your smtp port on your exchange server from the outside world i.e. telnet myip 25

2) How are you receiving external mail i.e do you have a MX recird at your isp or is it pushed to your IP by your ISP

Hi,

All accounts can send mails to anyone in the world but couldnt receive mails from the outside world.

There wasnt any error message for the sender or recipient...

Was is the default settings for receiving mails??
Will it be affected by the connections limits??

Previously I can receive mails but after I upgrade to SP3 and did some configuration the server this happen.

I tried the following steps:

1.Open a Command Prompt window

2.At the Command Prompt, type Telnet

3.type OPEN 25

I found that I cannot connect to my port 25, 110, 143 but can connect to 193.

What could happen??

If you can't connect to 25 or 110, you have a problem somewhere.
Now, how is that server connected? Behind router, firewall ... If so, is port 25 open and or forwarded?
Can you telnet it from the LAN ? If the solution is out there, let us know it was helpful, so others can benefit from it as well..

I receive this following message from my hotmail account.....

I can telnet to the mail server port 25 on a LAN.

I can use OWA to access the the mail server....

I have already open up port 25 on my firewall....

As your previous post states, you cannot connect to 25, i assume from the outside, that must mean the port is blocked or misrouted somewhere (router - firewall ...) If the solution is out there, let us know it was helpful, so others can benefit from it as well..

I think I found out why.....
How careless of me ....

in my firewall .. one number of the IP address was keyed in wrongly.... a 1 instead of 2......

...Thanks for all the help........

Aaaaa, there you go If the solution is out there, let us know it was helpful, so others can benefit from it as well..
