Mailmerege with Access sort problem

I have a word file which has a mailmerge set up with access.

It works fine except that I want to sort the fields to print out in a particular order.

When I click on the field header in the mailmerge wizard nothing happens.
I though that perhaps the filed I wanted to sort by need to be a key field but that didn't help.

Any ideas please.

Have you tried to sort your access table BEFORE you do your mail merge????? IF you need to keep your Access table in it's current state, you can set up a second identical table, then do a insert into the second table and do your sorting.
