Hi All, i'd like to know if anyone has ever created a mail group under R6 that would allow specific access from certain individuals trying to post a mail group. For example with our existing mail server "Postmaster" which runs on NT, we have the ability to create a mailing list and assign an owner of that mailing list exclusively. In doing so, anyone who attempts to send an email message to that mailing list will first go to the mailing list "owner" that we assigned, and decide weather or not to deny or approve of the message itself. Is something like this able to be implemented on Lotus Domino R6 ?

I think that such a functionality is not possible in Notes. Mail boxes that are declared can be written to by anyone in the domain, as far as I know.
But what you want to do is solved by the database function of Notes. Make a new database and restrict its access to the people who are concerned. Whenever someone posts a new document in that database, you can design a notification to be sent to the Approver, who then comes in to approve the document.
When that is done, another notification can go out to the "mailing list" with a doclink.
Remember, mail is not everything. With Notes, you must start thinking in terms of document repository, not mail.

Or....

You could use the mailing list template to create the group. Then allow the users that you want to use the list to subscribe, then modify the ACL of the database for the users that you would like to be able to originate mail. Associate this with a mail in database and you're done.
