I have the Auto Attendant at Ext 10...do I need to change it to another extension to have a milbox at that extension? If so how?

Log into the system administrator's mailbox, 9 for programming, 2 for mailboxes, 10# for mailbox 10, *3 to delete it, 10# again for mailbox 10, 1 to assign a regular mailbox to it, and 9 to set it as "with a phone

Sure hope you can help. Would call service tech but he's an hour and a half away and our last bill was over $300 for 30 minutes work.

Someone set up our phone system for us a favor and now we need to reprogram it to fit our needs more closely. I have all the manuals printed and have looked through them several times to no avail.

I can't even find out how to determine the version and revision level of the system never mind the optional cards that are installed. One says voice mail messaging I think.

What we need right now follows -

1) How do I find out the level and revison of the Avaya Partner ACS system software?

2) Can I pull out the two PC cards in slots 1 and 2 to see what they are? And is there a way to tell the rev levels of any SW they run on?

3) Finally we would like to program the system to respond to incoming calls as follows.

1st I need to set up DAY and Night modes. How do I?

Day Mode -

Extension 10 (operator) rings up to 5 times.
On 5th ring, a message plays apologizing or something to that effect for no one being available and asking caller to leave a message(voice mail) at the tone.
The tone sounds and the caller leaves voice mail and hangs up.
This voice mail should be available to the operator at extension 10 as reflected by her phone's Message light.

Optional - an additional extension rings at same time as 10.

Night Mode -

Extension 10 rings 1 time.
On 2nd ring a message is played stating it is after hours and to leave a voice mail at the tone.
Tone sounds.
The caller leaves a voice mail.
Next AM the operator sees her message light and checks extension 10

Thanks in advance for any help :)

I'll get you started on some of the questions but it might be better to start a brand new topic instead of piggy-backing onto this one:

1) Assuming that the system's processor is a Partner ACS, from any idled 18D or 34D telephone press "FEATURE 5 9" to display the information.

2) You must power down the system before pulling anything. If you are talking about PCMCIA cards in the front of the processor, they should be labeled. Likewise, the modules in the carrier should have labels on the front face near the top.

3) You will need to program a "Night Service" button at extension #10.

(I'll stop here)

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

The full answer to question #3 is much more involved. I just wanted to mention the Night Service button. [smile]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Ditto on starting a new thread - however, from the description of how you want calls to be answered, consider making Ext.10 the "Call Coverer" of the lines, and add a Do Not Disturb button for night mode. Read your documentation section on "Line Coverage Extension",
