mailbox statistics

Can someone recommend a quick solution for gathering mailbox statistics for Exchange 2003?

Our priority is to know which users have unread messages in their inbox but other stats would be useful.

You do realize that the READ flag is NOT an indicator as to if the message has actually been read, right?

I know it's not perfect but I just need to see if there are mailboxes where the number of unread messages is increasing so that we can take further action.

Alternatively, does anyone have sample VB.Net code for enumerating through mailboxes and generating the stats?

Thank you! There's a lot of great resouces here that will really help us out.

One thing to note with the Mailbox Size report is that if you have any mailboxes >4Gb they will appear strange, e.g -1.2Gb, 2Gb etc.
Glen did give me a solution to this but he hasn't posted it anywhere else that I have noticed.
