Mailbox says 36 messages only 17 in the mailbox

Mailbox says 36 messages only 17 in the mailbox. Not sure why this is happenging. Thought it had to do with an
oversized mailbox. So we archived about 77 megs worth but
still it shows there are 36 messages but only 17 show up.
THis is only happening in the Main Inbox.

Any ideas.

The view is incorrect?

Change to show messages only.

Go to View - Current View - then slect your desired view.

Nope not a view problem...

Seems to be a mailbox problem, as I can link to it and
it does the same thing for me.

The simplest thing to do in taht case then is to keep the mail you need, plus contacts calendar etc and the delete and recreate the mailbox. User should be fine after 15 mins max (replication) or you can force replication which will be quicker.

It saves any messing about and gets the user up and running and happy.
