Somewhat new to IP Office, installed an IP 500 V1 with 5(18) and embedded voicemail (more familiar with VM PRO). I did upload prompts through the embedded file management which seemed to work, uploaded over 600 prompts.

My question is, when logging into a mailbox and after it says something like "you have no new messages" and then it beeps with nothing else after that, is that normal? I would have thought it would have more prompts like to record your name press this, to record your greeting press that or change your password press whatever.

Thanks

It does have those prompts, press "Help" in Manager while in a users voicemail tab, and/or read the embedded VM installation manual and user guide :)

I understand that you can press what option you want, like pressing 3 will allow you to change greetings, but the system doesn't say "press 3 to access your greetings" or "press *04 to change your password" or "press *05 to record your name".

You have to wait a bit longer before you will hear it.

waited over 60 seconds after the system saying "you have no new messages" BEEP and nothing, just silence. however, during that time you can press the option you want and it will work.

Do you enter the voicemail with visual voice or by *17 ?
I think you use visual voice.

Never use visual voice when you enter the mailbox for the first time.

not using visual voice...hitting the messages button or *17.

enable voicemail help on the users vm settings may help...

If you want to confirm it's a blocking issue and narrow it down to PC or network patch the PC directly into the IP Offices LAN port, if VM comes up it's the network at fault if it is still being blocked it's something on the server at fault :)

intrigrant- tried that...didn't help

amriddle01- sounds like you're talking about VM PRO, but this is embedded VM

Try to take to the EVM card, then re-insert it.

Bas1234- I'm not in the position to do that right now, but with embedded voicemail should there be a prompt telling you which option to press, ie: for your greeting, even if there aren't any messages in your mailbox?

thanks.

Just let them press 3 if they want to record there name.
If that does not work then you have a problem.

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

Pressing the options to record name, greeting or changing password...all of that works. I just need to know if embedded voicemail is suppose to prompt you to press those options.

thanks

Help menu is *4 on embedded Vmail.

Try that if nothing plays then it doesn't have the prompt for that file. I have had this many times on installs and upgrading the prompts using the send commands through the cmd line has always fixed it.
