Quick question - I have a mailbox with an inbox and about 30 different folders sitting underneath it. I want to share out all of the folders and contents to 7 users. At the moment, it looks like I have to change the permissions for each folder one by one. If I change the permission for the inbox it doesn't seem to propergate down into all the subfolders. Surely there is an easier way than editing each folder and adding in the same 7 people. Using Outlook 2003.

snake,

if you give access to the mailbox in Outlook you will have to grant permission to every folder you would like to share. Starting with "Outlook Today" and then working your way down.
The alternative would be giving "Full Mailbox Access" in AD.
On your exchange server open AD Users and Comp. Browse to your account and open the "Exchange Advanced" tab. There you will find a button "Mailbox Rights". Enter there, add the people and give them "Full Mailbox Access", that should solve the problem.

That's ridiculous. That means they have access to the Calendar etc and can send emails from that mailbox. I find it stupid that Microsoft don't have a checkbox to allow subfolders to inherit the permissions.

Ah well, cheers anyway

It is! Whenever i teach one of our user howto do it they look at me as if i would be stupid. I spend a whole day trying to find better methods, but i didnt. If you do, please post it here so i get a notification about it.

Cheers
