Hi,

I have a user that I have created a mailbox for in active directory users and computers/exchange tasks. When I create the account it say "success" and everything appears normal. When the user tries to access the account it acts like it isn't there. When I go to the users properties in AD and go to the email address tab it is empty. I tried deleting and recreating the account to no avail, even though there are no errors doing so. Also, the new account doesn't show up in the Global Address list.

Can someone give me some clues how to troubleshoot/fix this?

TIA,

Jon

Force a RUS update.

System mgr, recipients, RUS, right click and update.
This is the service that actually stamps the account with e-mail address etc.
Once this has been done the user should appear in the GAL and can login.

same thing happened to me, however I noticed that if I would send the newly created account an email then all the info would show up in AD, and publish their name to the GAL list.

Well, FWIW I restarted exchange and it started working normally again. I know that will often fix things but I hate doing arbitrary resets on servers.
