hello forum,

has anyone seen this issue before? We have a user that archived their mailbox three days ago and Outlook now reports that the mailbox is only 300MB. but EMS sees 600MBs. I am going to move the mailbox to another db later but was wondering if the mailbox i corrupt.

Running Win 2k3 and Exchange 2k3 w/sp1

tnx,
bm

Outlook details the net mailbox size.
ESM details the gross mailbox size.
Differences are numerous but generally caused by deleted item retention.

Pat - in ESM I am pretty sure you see the mailbox size and it ignores the SIS. Hence if you add them all up they total more than the size of the priv.*.

Hi ppl,

Thanks for the reply. Deleted item retention is not an issue here. Besides, that is counted seperately, you just need to add the extra column in ESM to see it then add to the total of the mailbox.

The items in this mailbox were archived to PST. I have since backed up this db and I am in the process of moving the mailbox and skipping the max corrupted item limit. I will let you know what happens.

Of course moving the mailbox worked in giving me the correct reading. But i am wondering about my online maintenance completing on time (which i confirmed it is) Thank you.
