I've been working on tweaking call routing and VM in a department that is critical to our business. They don't want to get more than 30 minutes of VM's over the course of a weekend for each person but don't want to miss calls either. Is there a way to route a call to another number if a mailbox is full?

Routing is done using a Vector on Definty.
Equipment: Using Mailbox Manager 5.2.1

What are you using as the message store? MSS or Exchange

The only thing that you could do under the circumstance is to change the mailbox numbers using the Mailbox Manager with a project that is set to run at different times during the weekend.

You would setup the project to change mailbox 1000 to 1100 at noon on Saturday and then change 1100 to 1200. At the same time you would have mailbox 1101 already built and setup and change it to 1100 and so on.

It sounds to me like they are asking for something that is unreasonable. If the Dept is so vital to the company then someone would need to be checking the messages over the weekend and sending them to the appropriate person?

You could also setup a caller application that would front end the user mailbox and send it to a single mailbox on the weekend that would hold all of the messages.

Thanks Ken....I kind of thought it might be something that was a bit excessive but figured I'd toss it out here for discussion. To make sure we're on the same page I'll give you an example.

The Director wants no more than 30 minutes available on mailbox A because she doesn't want them spending Monday (all day) listening to VM from the weekend. So, mailbox A is full and a call comes into it and no one answers so it goes to VM. Since it's full and she doesn't want the call dropped she wants it to the route to mailbox B. Mailbox B is the secretary desk who has alot of space available on VM because she will have time to check them on Monday.

Thanks again Ken!

Sounds a little ridiculous to me. Is one person going to check all the messages? If so, then you will end up spending more time logging into two or three different mailboxes to get all the messages.
