mailbox as hunt night service in coverpath

We have a department with the folowing setup:
They were used to forward their station at evening, before leaving the office,to the main number of their service, which is a hunt group number.

At a moment they wanted a night service at the hunt group.
The night service is a (general) mailbox.

We have programmed this by using a vector.
The nicht service is a vdn. In the vector we have only one line : messaging skill 1999 for extension XXXXX (1999 is the hunt group number for voice mail)

And this is working fine!
At evening they forward their station to the general number. If the night servivce is activated then the calls go to the general mailbox.

Because they sometimes forget to forward at evening, they want this automatically in the coverpath.
The main number will be the latest step in the coverpath of each station.
During daytime the calls arrive at the members of the main number (hunt group) and when the night service is activated the calls have to arrive at the general mailbox.

But the problem is that the calls never arrive at the night service of the hunt group.
This is normal behaviour I guess, because an active night service in a cover path is considered as "non reachable".

Has anyone ideas how to program a workaround for this.

This may be a good place to use a Time of day cover path. It comes on at a determined time and turns off at a certain time that you can program. I have several in place and they work very well. Let me know if you would like to know more about the programming of one of these.

Mike,

Thanks for your reply!
We use coveradge time of day as well at several departments. And I agree, that this is a good solution.

But in this case, they want to manually activate the mailbox. (The last member of the 'main number hunt group' activates the night service before leaving the office)

You could use a coverage path that has "next linkage". Then when they leave hit SAC. The first coverage path would have SAC as "n" and the next linklage would have no on everything except SAC. Would that be an option??

Thanks Mike,

I didn't thought at such a solution.
Good idea!

Mike can you post up an example of each, the time of day coverage path and the coverage path using the next linkage?

Haven't used either but may want to in the future.

Forgive me if this post is sort of lengthy.

1. Time of day cover path.

I had to use this for our patient rooms. They are turned off at 9:00 pm and back on at 6:00 am.

2. Coverage path with next linkage.

In the hospital part of our campus, voicemail is not allowed during normal working hours. The administrators still wanted to be able to transfer their calls to a voicemail box if someone wanted to leave them a personal message but voicemail would not be part of the normal coverage path. (display feature access codes) "Transfer to voicemail access code". This would also allow them to call into their phones after hours and leave their selves reminder type messages. I have SAC turned off of their coverage paths. But after hours or when they leave they hit their SAC button. The coverage path looks to the "next linkage" for the SAC path. This is what the coverage path looks like.

In the case above, the next path linkage would be 1121. It has everything in that coverage path set to "n" except SAC.

Hope this gives you some ideas.
