Mailbox Access Via VMprofile Upgrade Issue.

Hi,

another issue we have had since our call manager 4.2 & unity v4 upgrades to 7.1 is that staff cannot access the associated voicemail boxes through vmprofile association on their exts. If the ext is listed as an Alt Ext on unity they can.

Is there any reason/fix for this?

At the moment the tedious workround is to ring through to the the mailbox and press *, enter mailbox id, enter pin etc.
 
The integration of unity and cucm on version 7 and 4 is virtually identical. My guess is that you have something wrong either with integration, vm profiles or associated css.
Go through all of them again and double check it, I never had that issue with any version of unity or cucm and it is definately not a bug you are running into. Simply something in your configuration.
A good place to start your debugs is on unity call viewer and port monitor under unity tools depot.
 
Turns out this is related to my other thread about changing the search spaces for Hunt pilots!

Most of our hunt pilots have mailboxes. Staff access the mailboxes via vmprofile. The vmprofile must go off the CSS for its mask number to get to the mailbox i.e. the hunt pilot number. If the CSS is set to none like it was when on 4.2 (which worked) it won't work on v7.
So once the CSS of the hunt pilot is populated with a valid CSS it works!
