Can anyone please help out with some advise on setting up Mail server using a cable connection with a static IP. The OS is 2k server. I have setup my DC. But im not sure exactly how my DNS should be setup. Any advice is much appreciated. I have setup my sendmail on my Linux box and it works fine. But windows is a diff. ball game for me.
Thanks.

For DNS just make sure you have your MX records in place. This is all that is required to make email work.

You did not mention what mail server you are trying to setup with w2k? If you are not using MS SMTP then make sure MS SMTP is disabled (or better yet removed) otherwise you will have a conflict with port 25.

I am using SMTP. Can you give me some advice on how to enter the MX record. I sure apprecialte it.

Thanks again for responding. Im not in a big hurry getting this up and running but I just want to make sure its setup right.
