I have a cable modem to my ISP and then on my side I have a router connected to it. Now my router is running dhcp client to the cable modem and dhcp server to my network. It also is the DNS server for my network. I want an email server to periodically download my email from my ISP and be able to view my email from any computer in the house. Also I would like it to keep my wifes email and my email in separate mailboxes. We do have separate accounts. Please let me know. Thanks

Hmmm why not use your computer as a mail client and download mail from your ISP just like outlook express or outlook or eudora etc?

Well I would like to keep my email on one computer. See I have 4 computers and another one that I use as a file server. All are running WXP Pro. So if I am working on one and move to another. I want to be able to look at all my email. Also this would simplify backing my email up if it is all on one box. I guess I was not clear enough with my first question.

Try their product supports relaying and has a web interface. If you find a copy of the OLDer 3.0 version is totally free for personal use! It work well to. the older version does not have a web interface :(
their price is good though if you want to buy. something like $90.00 per domain (I think). Has SMTP/POP suport.

Here is another approach. Use Outlook express and point the STOREROOT registry key to a mapped network drive. Then when you use OE on any of the systems you will be using the shared file on your server. This would cost nothing to implement. The regsitry key is HkeyCurrentUser, Identities, Outlook. the field name is storeroot and is simply a text path name.

Hello STharp,

Merak Mail Server can do what you need. It has a feature to pickup remote mail from wherever you want. You can pickup mail from 50 different networks using POP and then Merak can sort the email out across your domain or just deliver to one account. All versions of the mail server do this, so cost is not an issue.
