Using an exchange account in Galaxy S2 (Android 2.3.6) to access corporate Novell Groupwise Mail. Whenever I send/reply/forward to Emails the sub domain part of recipients email id is getting truncated. Eg. mail is sent to xyz@yahoo.co instead of xyz@yahoo.co.in. Problem also occurs when mail is sent to the kind of address where there is dot in it. Eg. Mail to abc.xyz@yahoo.com will be sent to xyz@yahoo.com. Tried different email apps with same result. Problem occurs only with my corporate email acount.

I'm assuming you've tried accessing the GroupWise account directly within the network where the server resides and this does NOT happen in that situation??

@goombawaho
Yes. The problem only occurs when I use it thru my andoird phone using Exchange. The problem does not occur in any of the e.g. webaccess, from desktop client using vpn etc.

Our Corporation uses “Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack 1.2” to synchronize the GroupWise email system and ActiveSync or Mail-for-Exchange enabled mobile devices.

You shouldn't have posted it in the GroupWise area then. GW is fine, it's one of the other intermediate steps that is garbling the domain name. Why isn't the corporate IT dept. handling this for you? If you are part of the IT dept. and you can't handle it, it's time to call in a paid consultant.

Thanks goombawaho.I am not in IT. Our IT says it may be device specific problem. However I was not convinced as I have tried out Google and hotmail exchange service with the same email apps used for my corporate connection and they were working fine. Problem seems to be only with the corporate mail. That's why I thought there may be some problem with "Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack 1.2".

I disagree, I think this is a Datasync Issue. But you can't compare problems on your Droid/GroupWise/Datasync with Hotmail or Google.. It's not even close to being the same architecture.

DataSync is a fairly new product and I've seen quite a few problems on the Droid. However, I no longer have Droid, I have an iPhone and it works much better overall. I had constant problems on the Droid so that it was very difficult to even take seriously.

Your IT people need to update DataSync to the latest version. One was just released recently and includes a lot of fixes. Novell generally puts out an update every couple months. I don't know if it would fix your issue, but if not, they should be able to escalate this to Novell and get a fix, or at least get a defect logged so it can be fixed in an upcoming release.

We publish a baseline list of the current patches. You can find out what versions you should be running here:
