Mail search not finding existing text in Mail Db

I use Lotus Notes mail as a record of tasks I have been requested to do.

However, when I search the database for an existing text string, it will come up empty/no documents found (even though the text string exists). ie It won't find the string 'C02', but will find 'CO20', even though both strings are part of an existing word.

Various portions/length text strings within mail documents are sometimes found, other times not. Is this a bug ?

1. Have you created a full text index? (see Database Properties).

2. Have you updated your index recently, or is it set to update automatically?

3. You can also delete your index and create a new one (see Database Properties).
