mail -s Not working

I try to have subject in mail command. But the following doesn't work. Please help. Thanks!

mail -s "test" ...

I try to use mail not mailx to have the subject. How to do?

What version of Unix are you running? I know Solaris "mail" doesn't have a "-s" argument. You need to use "mailx" on Solaris. SCO allows "-s" for "mail". Not sure about others.
