My mail recovery database has suddenly stopped registering user ids. To my knowledge, nothing has changed.. any ideas?

Hi,

Athough I have no clue what your "mail recovery database" is I guess some agent is no longer running.

Check the agents in your database and make sure they are signed with an ID that is authorized to execute agents on the server.

Check the agents log or the server logs.

Kind regards,

Sorry...let me rephrase..I have a mail-in database for ID and password recovery. When I register users, the person's id should be forwarded to this database automatically. Its been working fine until recently. Now when I create users, nothing is sent. Thanks for responding..I hope this helps explain my situation a little better.

Are you using a new certifier that has been created for pehaps a new office or department? If so, then it's possible that your password recovery has been enabled on each individual certifier, rather than at the highest level.

Check that password recovery is enabled on this certifier:-
* Have a copy of the certifier in question availaible locally or on a mapped network drive.
* From the Domino Administrator, click the Configuration tab, and then click Certification.
* Click Edit Recovery Information.
* Select the certifier ID file, and then enter the password.
* Check the necessary fields, select your mail-in database by clicking the Address button.

Regards,
Tony.

No new certifiers, and password recovery seems to be set up correctly. That's what is so puzzling. We have a small company with 200 users, so we have an extremely simple setup.

If you're certain that password recovery is set up correctly, you need to look at the other parts of the process, off the top of my head:-
* Is the mail being sent? you should be able to check using message tracking or by searching the mail routing event logs.
* Does your mail-in database document point to the correct database?
* Is the mail being sent successfully, but you are looking at an old replica?
* Has someone set up a rule in your mail-in database to file incoming messages?
* Is there an agent running on your mail-in database that is doing something naughty?

Just a brain dump really, but may give you a clue.

Regards,
Tony.

I've checked it all and everything looks ok. The emails are just not being sent at all to this database. I did try sending a test message to the database, and it did show up in the inbox, so I know it can receive mail. The automatic registration process is just not working. Any other areas I can check?
