Hi all.
I'm new to SCO.
I ran into this problem.
Can somebody show me what it is ? how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.
here what have:

After 3 days (71 hours), your message has not yet been
fully delivered. Attempts to deliver the message will continue
for 5 more days. No further action is required by you.

Delivery attempts are still pending for the following address(es):

root

Evidently a software package of some sort, or a backup package , or something else has attempted to tell the big cheese that something has happened.
It evidently is having problems attaching the message to the file /usr/spool/mail/root.
You could possibly see if this is valid by loggin in as root and running mail. Or you could look in the directory and see if the file is there.
If it has been trying for 3 days either it is a big message , faulty mail , or you are running short on hard drive space. (kidding about the big message)
Do you have any indication of what is trying to send the message?

Thanks Ed Fair.
I used mail icon on GUI to open the root email.
There are some huge files. You absolutely right.
I removed root's mail. in /usr/spool/mail
and wail for tomorrow if I receive more messages like that.
oh! by the way, every time I open mail icon,it would takes me 5 minutes to finish,
I deleted all the mails in here and when I tried to close It asked me to save, If I click save then It wouldn't close.
The mail icon is never open like previous.
Thanks

Big files and lots of them create the problem. Try command line to delete the individual messages then delete the file and recreate it. Should help. Next problem is to find what is sending the messages. Lone-tar builds huge files when it is reporting backup. Backup edge also builds big messages, just not as large as lone-tar. Both are dependent on what you have loaded, two lines for each file or directory. Other cron jobs also report. You should see some sort of identifier in the mail message.
For help try "man mail". Ed Fair
